Connecting Coaxial Cable To Wall Outlet

Installing a cable outlet in your finished wall is a simple 30 minute project.

Trace around the bottom of the box with a pencil. Use a wire stripper or razor and gently cut around the plastic 1 4 inch 0 64 cm from the top. Pull the cable through the opening and then install two tv jack mounting brackets or low voltage junction box in the cutout. Attach the jack to the wall by screwing it onto the mounting brackets.

The final layer of insulation for the cable is a white plastic housing around the main conductor. Use an adjustable wrench or pliers to attach the cable f connector to the back of the tv jack. Tighten that end of the cable to make firm contact. Set the electrical box you will use to house the cable outlet against the wall where you want to mount it.

You can do this by twisting the wire by your fingers or using the pliers. Then peel it away to expose the copper conductor underneath. Now plug the first coaxial cable into the wall outlet from where the connection is coming. Many new homes are built with these outlets already in place but older homes do not.
