To convert 3 phase to single phase power you can use a phase converter.
Convert 3 phase heater to single phase.
In a single phase ac power system there is only one single sinusoidal voltage.
At the heater there are 3 existing links across terminals 2 3 remove 2 of them.
I bought a 240v single phase space heater for heating up a warehouse space.
If you connect all three phases to a single phase you would probably overload your wiring as these are mostly rated at something like 3 to 4 kw.
You would need to buy a phase converter that can support the amperage and kw draw of the welding power source you are going to connect to it.
The warehouse has 240v power in a delta configuration no neutral.
The diagram and table below can be used to convert amperage between single phase and three phase equipment and vice versa.
Note that this will impact only the device wired to it not an entire outlet because it is not hardwired into your electrical system.
My understanding is that in a delta configuration the line voltage between any two phases is the same as the phase voltage in this case 240v.
This idea is not economic it would cost more to convert it safely than buying one or more single phase heaters either second hand or new to give the same heating effect 3 phase heaters are not.
Then you just hook up the converter to the heaters and the other side of the converter to the single phase source and off you go.
Most ac power is produced and distributed as three phase power with three sinusoidal voltages 120 degrees out of phase with each other.
About the 3 phase power source on single phase the answer is don t do it.
Please don t do that when powering all three elements from a single phase you probably need to rewire the return circuit inside the heater.
Run two wires from the motor to the converter.
This device can be wired to the motor you plan to run that requires single phase power.
